200KW factory solar system: the full configuration

The 200KW factory solar system configuration below is the largest complete configuration in the range, set out figure by figure for a production building whose loads justify this scale.

Schematic illustration of a factory rooftop array. Illustration only.

The configuration in full

The array is built from 338 pieces of 580W monocrystalline panels using N-type TopCon cells, feeding a 200KW inverter. Storage comes in two forms: a gel battery option of 180 pieces of 2V 1500AH, or a lithium battery option of 465KWH. The mounting structure carries a wind load rating of 55m/s and a snow load rating of 1.5kN/m².

A factory project is never bought from a page alone: the configuration is the starting point for a project discussion in which your own load curve, roof structure and production calendar decide what is finally quoted. If your building's draw is far below this scale, the honest answer is a smaller configuration, and the sizing guide linked below explains how that judgement is made.

Why a factory system is sized from production

A factory's electricity bill is written by its machinery. Motors, compressors, welders and process equipment decide both the size of the system and the hours it must deliver. A system of this class is therefore planned against the production day: which lines run, in which shifts, with what starting surges, and which loads must be protected if the grid fails mid-shift.

The two storage options in this configuration reflect that choice. Gel and lithium banks behave differently in cost, footprint and handling, and the right one depends on how the factory intends to use stored energy — as protection for essential processes, or as a working part of daily production. That decision belongs in the project discussion, with the load curve on the table.

Roof, structure and the mounting figures

The wind and snow load figures matter because a factory array is a structure before it is a generator. A wide-span production roof carries an array differently from a concrete slab, and the mounting design has to answer for local weather given in the project specification. When you supply your building details, include the roof construction and material, not only its area, so the structure can be matched to the building rather than adapted to it afterwards.

Access matters as well. Panels need cleaning and inspection paths, and a layout that covers every usable metre while leaving no way to reach the middle rows will cost more over its life than it saved at installation.

From this configuration to your project

Use this page to calibrate the discussion, then move to the factory sizing guide and prepare your load curve, your shift pattern and your roof details. Before ordering, confirm the minimum order quantity and lead time for your configuration, and ask which certificate documents apply to the models named in it. A project of this size should be confirmed as a complete written specification, checked line by line before payment.
