Quotation checklist: what a complete quotation states

A solar system quotation is complete when a stranger could order from it without a phone call: every component named, every quantity stated, and the open questions listed as questions rather than buried as assumptions. This checklist is the test.

Line by line

Each line of the configuration should name a model and a quantity: panels, inverter, batteries where included, mounting and cabling. A line that says only a category — a size of inverter, a type of battery — leaves the actual product to be chosen later by someone else. Where a line offers alternatives, the quotation should say which alternative the price covers.

Beyond the hardware, a complete quotation states what the system is designed against: the load list or load profile it answers. If your quotation has no load reference, ask for one to be attached. It is the only way to check, after delivery, that the system you received is the system your building needed.

Terms to close in writing

Before ordering, confirm the minimum order quantity and lead time for your configuration, the packing arrangement, and which certificate documents apply to the named models. Ask for the answers in the same document thread as the quotation. Verbal answers to written questions have a way of evaporating exactly when they are needed.
