Maintenance checklist: the owner's routine

A solar system asks little, but not nothing. This checklist covers the general owner-side routine that keeps a system performing as configured: clean panels, clear shading, healthy storage conditions and records that survive staff changes. Your system's own manuals govern its specific servicing.

The routine

Panels lose output under dust, leaves and droppings long before anything breaks; a cleaning rhythm suited to your site's dust and rainfall is the highest-value habit an owner can keep. Walk the array's surroundings each season: new shading from grown trees or new construction quietly taxes a system for years if nobody looks up.

Storage wants steadiness: keep the battery space ventilated and dry, keep the area around equipment clear, and note anything unusual — heat, smell, swelling, alarms — rather than waiting for failure. Check the system's own indicators on a rhythm, and write down what you see. A page of dated notes is worth more, at the first fault, than a year of impressions.

Records

Keep the installation documents, the final configuration and your dated notes together. When output disappoints, the first diagnostic question is always whether the system changed or the building did — new loads are the most common silent cause — and records answer it in minutes.

Ask for a configuration matched to your site

Before ordering, confirm the minimum order quantity and lead time for your configuration, and ask which documents apply to the exact system you are quoted.
